Is Love Holidays ABTA Protected?

As savvy consumers, we often look for recognitions like ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) membership, which serves as a seal of trust for travel companies. ABTA’s code of conduct requires high standards of service, a commitment to fair trading terms, and a reliable dispute resolution service, thereby offering a safety net to travelers. This article provides an important update regarding the ABTA membership status of a popular online travel agency, Love Holidays.

The Situation with Love Holidays

Regrettably, as of 16th September 2020, Love Holidays is no longer a member of ABTA. This change means that ABTA can no longer provide assistance or advice to Love Holidays’ customers, as the company is no longer obligated to adhere to ABTA’s Code of Conduct. We understand that this news may be disappointing and possibly concerning for many of Love Holidays’ customers.

What Does This Mean for Customers?

If you have previously lodged a complaint with ABTA about Love Holidays, the ABTA Customer Support team should be in contact with you soon, providing advice on the next steps. The guidance provided will depend on the stage of the complaint and the individual circumstances involved.

For those customers who have new complaints regarding Love Holidays, it is recommended that you contact the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 0345 404 0506. They can provide comprehensive advice on how best to proceed with your complaint.

In situations where you are awaiting a refund from Love Holidays, the Competition & Markets Authority can provide guidance. It’s important to remember that despite Love Holidays’ loss of ABTA membership, you still have rights as a consumer and avenues for recourse.
